Our providers also use well-child visits to monitor your child’s growth and development. The American Academy of Pediatrics/Bright Futures recommends annual, well-child check-ups for all children ages 3 through 18. Many parents have the misconception that annual physicals are optional after age 5, or that they are only necessary if the child needs a vaccine. However, your child continues to grow through age 18, and monitoring growth and development is important at every age!
